Throughout the elbow, wrist, and hand there are several nerves that innervate movement and provide sensation. These nerves can become compressed by their surrounding tissues. This is called entrapment and is often related to repetitive or prolonged motion, swelling and inflammation. Compressed nerves can cause loss of function, tingling, numbness, pain, and discomfort. When non-surgical forms of relief do not work, surgical intervention can be taken to decompress the nerve.
At TOP Plastic Surgery Centre our board-certified surgeons can properly diagnose and determine if surgery is needed. Once the associated pressures of nerve decompression are alleviated, patients find relief of symptoms and can return to activity with little to no pain and discomfort.
